Past Initiative: Zomia Coding Project
Helping refugees build new lives and brighter futures.
Since the summer of 2021, over 85,000 Afghans refugees have resettled in the United States. The Zomia Coding Project taught coding and web development to Afghan refugees and helped them find work in tech. Through the project, Zomia has reached over 500 Afghan refugees. In Q2 of 2023, Zomia launched our first free immersive coding bootcamp for Afghan refugees, providing scholarships for eight recipients to study web development full time.

Partnering with Zomia
Zomia Coding Project was a grassroots initiative dedicated to supporting refugees through tech. Our philosophy was simple: Help first, worry about resources later. We constantly found new ways to serve, running pilot programs to validate our concepts.
